Vic Gov $200m Stimulus on Hospitality, Tourism and Creative Industries
The Victorian State Government is urging Victorian’s to return to its famous hospitality, tourism and creative industries. More than $100m in rebates and vouchers are to be offered to assist Melbourne’s businesses back on their feet. The State Government also announced almost $100m in business assistance to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 in the workplace as well as place more than 1,500 workers across key industries.
The programs include:
- An extension of the Business Recovery and Resilience Mentoring Program, to provide more small businesses with tailored business coaching;
- A $100 million voucher scheme that will provide rebates to Victorians for entertainment, dining and travel, including a $10 million round of Melbourne Money;
- A $30 million regional rebate scheme, expanding the opportunities for discounted food and wine experiences across regional areas and suburbs beyond Melbourne;
- A $30 million entertainment voucher scheme providing rebates for theatre, live music, cinemas, museums, galleries, conferences, exhibitions, and other events across Victoria;
- $30 million to the Victorian Travel Voucher Scheme, which will encourage more people to holiday across Victoria and spend on local accommodation, attractions and tours;
- A $60 million Ventilation Voucher Program to help small businesses purchase equipment and upgrades to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in the workplace and
- $34.2 million to help place workers in more than 1,500 jobs across hospitality, warehousing and logistics, tourism and food processing.
